For myself, rising early is one of my personal challenges. It’s just so damn hard. As soon as my alarm sounds, my bed suddenly feels like this sacred space of infinite warmth and comfort and pure awesomeness – that it is so difficult to get out! But alas, myself and a friend from school have set ourselves a challenge of waking up at 7:00 every day regardless of whether I have classes that early or not.
Today is our first day, and hey, I made it! Whew. I realized I could easily sleep for the extra hour, and get up and walk my booty to my exciting chemistry class, but after thinking about it, I realized that the extra hour snoozefest is just not worth the lack of trust in my own word that I would bear because of it. Needless to say, I am very happy with my decision to get up. Because here I am, writing a blog post!
I’ve tried this whole waking up early thing before. There were a few times in my life where I did succeed, but there were many more that I failed miserably. And I came up with a lot of excuses. Oh there were tonns of them. One of the more interesting ones was that, upon waking up, I just could not fathom what the heck there was to do with all this extra time. Crazy, huh? I really thought “What’s the point in getting up now? There’s nothing to do. I’m way more sleepy. Goodnight.”
It’s interesting because the night prior, I had so much enthusiasm and drive to wake up at said time. But for some reason, when it came down to it, I just couldn’t think of one thing to do.
So, I made a list.
For you.
For me.

I hope you enjoyed this. I’m very sorry I’ve been so absent the last few weeks. Getting myself grounded here has definitely been a bit of a challenge and I am just tyring to get all my ducks in a row one at a time 🙂 This little baby duck is next!
And as for e-mails, I’m totally hearin’ ya! It’s just that my inbox is full and I have to go through each email one a time, so pleaseeee bear with me.
Now it’s time for me to get to campus early so I can enjoy a bottle of orange juice and a jam donut before my chemistry lecture!
I’m going to join your challenge… I’m inspired!
Evelyn, you are more than welcome to!
Here are the rules:
When my alarm goes off, I’ll text you and you are REQUIRED BY LAW to text back and get your booty out of bed.
Ok, sounds good… aah I’m nervous now!
