Happy June full moon, readers! Today I answer some of the thought-provoking questions you submitted over the last month.
Greetings! I’m trans (ftm) and my family have basically disowned me ever since I came out. Struggling with feeling abandoned by my family. How do I move on from this kind of betrayal from the people who are supposed to love me no matter what?
I am so sorry you are going through this pain.
If your family disown you, then you certainly earn the right to choose your family. Your chosen family will be the people who show up for you every day. Not because of biology, obligation or societal expectations, but because they simply want to. In that way – you have the opportunity to create the truest version of “family.”
Friends, it has been almost 2 months since I last wrote anything. Life has been full to say the least. I took the USMLE Step 1 exam. I packed up everything from my life in my parents home for the last 7 months and went back to Toronto for 2 weeks. Those 2 weeks were spent with my husband, packing and cleaning and basically trying to move in again to our “new home” that I have barely lived in. Then we got on a plane and flew to India, and that is where I am now.
Some time ago I wrote a post called “Karma and Dharma: An Introduction.” which is basically a really basic description of a complex topic. Today I would like to go a bit deeper into the subject of Karma and why it is important for us to break free from our Karma.
From the moment you were born to this very moment that you are reading this post, you have accumulated karma. Everything you have done, or not done, everything you have thought, felt and said, your family, your home, your friends, your experiences – all these things have become inputs for your karma. Each thing influences who you are today. It is life memory. Even the way you think, feel and experience your life is influenced by your past inputs. Your body, your mind, your emotions and your energies is coloured by your karma.
Oh, how I wish I would post in my blog more! Early morning is usually the time I am most inspired to spend time on writing for my blog, but I always (sadly) decide that it would be better for me to channel that energy on studying instead. And so I do. And then by around 7pm I’m too mentally tired to write 🙁 But anyway, I am so happy to be here tonight!
Today we are going to talk about our spiritual bank account…..
